All Business Centres remain open for business

  • Hastings Deering is considered an essential business, and all Business Centres will remain open. 
  • This is in adherence with the State and Territory Government approved COVID-19 Safety Plans that continue to protect the health and safety of our people, communities, and customers.

Restrictions for residents of, and visitors travelling from, restricted South East Queensland (SEQ) Local Government Areas (LGAs) until August 22 2021
Hastings Deering is operating as essential business under its COVIDSafe plan in South East Queensland, which includes strict adherence to the Queensland Government’s Directions and Roadmap.

Some restrictions remain in place for our Business Centres in SEQ LGAs, to slow the spread of COVID through our community. If you are visiting these Business Centres, or visiting any other Business Centre from an SEQ LGA, please note the following:

  • Masks are mandatory in all indoor workspaces, regardless of social distancing. 
  • QR Code checkin with the QLD Government’s Check in App is mandatory for all visitors at retail sales points, courier pick up points or sales counters. 
  • Increased sanitation and hygiene controls remain in place and hand and respiratory hygiene is important.

    Hastings Deering  is monitoring the impacts and concerns associated with the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) very closely. In line with our core values, we are taking every precaution to prevent the spread of COVID-19 to protect our employees, customers, business partners and communities.

    We are committed first and foremost to the safety of our employees, contractors and business partners.  We will continue to review the impact of COVID-19 and we will engage regularly with key stakeholders on any potential impacts, where and when they are known, in an effort to minimise disruption.

    We are closely monitoring advice and statements from the Australian Government, the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organisation and following guidelines from these authorities and Federal health departments, as required.

    At this point in time, we are not aware of any significant impacts to supply, but we will continue to monitor the situation and we will provide regular updates.

    We recognise that the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve rapidly and that responding to the pandemic requires us to adjust our operations, while minimising disruption. Hastings Deering remains committed first and foremost to the health and safety of our employees, their families and our customers and business partners.

    We will continue to provide you with regular updates and communication on how we are managing and adjusting our operations and support for your business. Our approach will need to continue to adjust based on the specific government health initiatives. Currently, I am pleased to confirm that:

    • Our Business Centres continue to be fully operational with increased hygiene and social distancing in place for our employees, visiting customers and suppliers.
    • Our field service technicians continue to operate as normal, with a risk review conducted on any Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) operations.
    • New machines will continue to be delivered as per normal with minimal disruption at this point in time.
    • Our supply chain remains robust and we are monitoring this daily. We acknowledge that emerging challenges with border closures and airline changes may occur. Despite the Queensland and Northern Territory borders closing soon; freight and logistics providers remain exempt from this and are continuing as normal. We have confidence in our inventory, domestic and international capability to supply your needs. We are monitoring domestic freight and successfully moving freight to alternate modes, where needed, to minimise any potential impact.

    As an Essential Service provider supporting your business, we are committed to safely keeping your operations moving and minimising disruption. Currently, I am pleased to confirm that:

    • Our Business Centres continue to be fully operational with increased hygiene and social distancing in place for our employees, visiting customers and suppliers. Business Centres will have changed opening hours across the Easter break, between Friday the 10th of April and Monday the 13th of April. Read here for individual opening hours.

    As we continue to work together through the Coronavirus roadmap to recovery, I would like to thank our valued customers for partnering with Hastings Deering and choosing us as your preferred equipment and solutions provider. We are open for business as usual, our Business Centres are fully operational and we are committed to safely keeping your operations moving and minimising disruption.

    I would also like to thank every one of our valued employees who have continued to keep our business and services running. Our entire workforce has quickly adapted to Coronavirus guidelines and we are operating with little impact across our machine, parts and service delivery.

    Over the past few months, Hastings Deering has implemented a number of initiatives to ensure we continue to provide our valued customers with the best coverage and support during these times. These include:

    • Split shifts across 24/7 operations to ensure customer demands are met.
    • New shift arrangements into warehouse and service operations, together with our strict cleaning regime. The cleaning regime provides total employee segregation between shifts to protect our employees and the continuity of business operations for customers.
    • Redeployment of internal resources into warehouse functions to support with new shift rosters.
    • Relocated corporate teams and parts interpreters to home office with minimal disruption to service.
    • Increased our local parts delivery capability and non-contact services.
    • Where flights have been cancelled impacting air freight, we have quickly converted to road transport to minimise any impacts to parts deliveries.

    As industry and community restrictions gradually ease over the foreseeable period ahead, we have started the adoption of our business to a permanent COVID-19 Safe workplace. This is focused on safeguarding the health and safety of our people, our customers and business partners while keeping your operations moving and minimising disruption. Our commitment to health, hygiene and physical distancing protocols will remain our ongoing priority.

    Hastings Deering Response to Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Update 7

    This morning, the Queensland Premier and Chief Health Officer announced that some South East Queensland (SEQ) local government areas (LGAs), Townsville, Palm Island and Magnetic Island will lockdown to slow the spread of COVID through our community.

    The lockdown will be enforced from 6.00pm, 29 June 2021 until 6.00pm, Friday 2 July inclusive.
     
    Areas include: Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Brisbane, Somerset, Moreton Bay, Gold Coast, Lockyer Valley and Scenic Rim, Townsville, Palm Island and Magnetic Island.

    Furthermore, the Northern Territory’s Chief Minister announced that the local Government Areas of Darwin, Palmerston and Litchfield will extend their lockdown until 1.00pm Friday 2 July.
